Biography & Interests

I am currently studying for my Master's degree in Engineering at Oxford, and working on my thesis, which involves data analytics using Python and other machine learning tools. I enjoy boxing, playing squash, and being active in various different societies, such as Engineering, Oxford Women in Business and Model United Nations societies. I am an incoming analyst at Bain & Co, where I will be a consultant.

Experience & Approach

I originally discovered teaching when I set up and taught at a Mathematics and Computer Science camp for high-school students in both Ghana and Kenya. It was amazing to encourage a problem-solving mentality in creative ways as well as foster a love of the subjects from the students. These students went from having gaps in basic mathematical knowledge to being able to program an online game in the space of a week.

Since then, I have taught mathematics and physics at a range of levels, as well as helping students apply for Oxbridge in Engineering. I love seeing students progress and tackle more difficult problems. It is important to me that they not just recite knowledge, but understand the core concepts and meanings so that they can then progress faster and more consistently.

"Aurelia has really helped me understand the fundamental concepts about physics and mathematics during my A level studies. Her persistent work and commitment, as well as her detailed and comprehensive explanations, really helped me achieve the grade that I wanted. When I struggled with some particular problems, she came up with creative solutions to help me understand in a non-conventional way, which was fantastic." - Amira Bahiji, October 2018
