Biography & Interests

I am an actor by profession but have a wide range of passions, from camping to medieval culture to Eastern European polyphony. Since graduating drama school I have worked in Poland, India, Italy, and the UK, and like nothing more than when my work - be it in performance or education - takes me somewhere unexpected. Saying this, I am still deeply in love with London, my hometown, and when time allows you will find me wandering the length and breadth of the urban sprawl, spotting blue plaques and adding to ‘the knowledge’.

I am a contributing writer at Total Theatre Magazine, and am currently researching a PhD proposal looking at certain intersections between literary and dramatic theory.

Experience & Approach

Following a year teaching Drama, English, and RS at The Perse School, Cambridge, I have worked on a one-to-one basis with students ranging from 7+ to postgraduate. Being able to work with students beyond the classroom - and being able to focus not only on academics but on personal interests, confidence, motivation, and mental health - has been extremely rewarding, and I am increasingly focused on a holistic approach to education. 

Since qualifying as a TEFL teacher, I have been working with a number of pupils for whom English is not the language spoken at home. As a private teacher, I have focused on English (7+, 11+, GCSE) and Drama (A Level), and recently have been engaged as a creative mentor for students on the MA Collaborative Theatre Making Course at my alma mater, Rose Bruford. As an Oxford graduate I have also worked with students on interview technique, and have helped a number of young people - including my younger sisters - research and identify the university course that is right for them, be that at Oxbridge or art school.
