  • Oxford University: Classics

  • Harrow School: A-Levels - Ancient Greek (A*), Latin (A*), Maths (A*), French (A)

After leaving Oxford in 2016, I started my acting career at the Edinburgh Festival. I have since performed Off-Broadway in New York. I have always acted, but also enjoy taking part in a wide range of sports, especially Cricket, Tennis, and Skiing. I am a die-hard fan of Swindon Town Football Club, English cricket, and Welsh rugby! I am also an occasional music journalist, and a fan of early twentieth-century literature.

My tutoring has focused largely on getting students into their secondary school of choice. This has ranged from 11+ pre-tests, through Common Entrance, to Eton Scholarships. I specialise in Latin, Ancient Greek, French, Maths, and History, as well as providing interview practice. Although most of these sessions require close attention to past papers and the exam syllabus, I aim to make the preparation process enjoyable and fresh, looking beyond the curriculum in order to make the student enthused by the tasks at hand, which will in turn impress the schools, by excelling beyond being merely 'good enough'.

"Very approachable and inspirational.  He made it very easy for me to grasp the basics of a subject that I have never done before and had originally thought would be very dry and boring. Thank you." Father of 13-year-old, August 2017

“Engaging, calm, patient and great at explaining new concepts - Tom's your man! My son really enjoyed his sessions with Tom, who helped him achieve 100% in his ISEB prep test papers. Thank you!” Mother of 10-year-old, October 2018

“We loved Tom. He was incredibly patient and on the ball. Max really enjoyed his sessions and was, amazingly, able to hold his attention span throughout. Very impressive for a 10 year old, and clearly down to Tom's mentoring. Thank you Tom!” Mother of 10-year-old, November 2018
