Oppidan x Soneva: join us in the Maldives
Building on several years of successful partnership, we’re returning to Soneva Fushi over this Christmas and New Year.
Why does this work take place?
Oppidan Education has supported children of all ages and backgrounds from across the world. As a luxury resort focused on sustainability and education, Soneva Fushi has helped Oppidan to pioneer and innovate this approach to educating children about their surroundings while on holiday. Just because we’re not in school does not mean we stop learning. We’re passionate about ensuring that children benefit from opportunities to learn and to be curious, wherever and whenever.
What does the residency look like?
Oppidan Education will be providing two members of its full-time mentoring team for two and a half weeks at Soneva Fushi. Each morning, children will benefit from complimentary drop-in workshops at the Soneva Fushi ‘Den’, with opportunities for games, activities, workshops and talks, combining education with play. Activities with Oppidan are educational but intrinsically social, with mentors acting as inspiring role models to help children make the most of their holiday with other friends and guests.
Outside of workshop times, Oppidan mentors will be on hand for private one-to-one mentoring and tuition sessions to cater for all needs, from academic top-ups necessary for incoming exams or assessments, to pastoral mentoring aiming to foster confidence and communication skills. Study hacks and habits also form a key part of Oppidan’s offering. We want children to return to school in January feeling inspired, confident and prepared to put their best foot forward.
