Invisible learning for the next generation.
Oppidan Camps has expanded to offer their popular residential educational camps for children aged 8 to 13 throughout the Easter and Summer holidays. An Oppidan Camp is a dream week for a child, incorporating interactive workshops, outdoor sports, practical skills, team games, cooking and camping. Oppidan camps take learning outside the classroom.
Children on the camps are treated like adults and try their hand at a host of new skills, making friends and coming away with an increased sense of confidence and perspective about their learning. We provide a safe, structured and energising environment for children, and groups are managed so that levels of ability and age are taken into account.

WHY CHOOSE OPPIDAN CAMPS?
Oppidan Camps help children realise how much they can enjoy their learning. We strongly believe this is unique within the UK. The camps encourage a broad range of skills and increase confidence in children. Our ‘Invisible Learning’ angle aims, above all, to allow our students to enjoy themselves, while meeting new people and return to school with a sense of renewed energy for their studies, pre-tests and transitions to senior schools.
These camps focus on language, history and culture, as well as the practical skills and sports associated with Oppidan Camps. We’ve run camps in Greece, France and China.
APPLYING TO BE A CAMP MENTOR
Oppidan Camps take place between April and September across a range of venues within close reach of London. Our typical Oppidan Camp runs from Monday to Friday, though school or private camps are often shorter.
To work as a mentor on an Oppidan Camp, please see our policy below:
Two Weeks' Commitment - We look to employ camp mentors who will offer a minimum of two weeks’ availability relevant to our camp dates.
Phone Interview - You will have an initial phone interview with a member of the Oppidan team.
Face-to-face Interview – Successful candidates will then undergo a subsequent face-to-face interview at our office in Holland Park.
Enhanced DBS Check - This is an integral part of working for Oppidan. Please make us aware of any up-to-date DBS check you have, otherwise we can organise this for you.
Safeguarding & First Aid Training - All camp mentors working for Oppidan undergo online safeguarding and face-to-face first aid training, in addition to Oppidan’s own training programme.
